Giving Tree: Monica & Rita along with the community set up the tree at Safeway, there ended up being approximately 100 people to buy for. El Dorado Community Foundation donated $2500 last year towards the tree, Rita called them and they donated $1000 more this year! Their organization donates money towards needy families in particular. Rita is putting together a picture book of all the gifts and a thank you card for the donor. Next year toys for tots might be interested in participating in the giving tree program for our community.

Santa Shop: Pauline: The shop was amazing, a lot of smiles from the children. If we sign up before Saint Patricks day for the 2013 shoppe we will receive $300 worth of free goods / called a carnival package. We made $2476.00 this year but the invoice is for $2991.00. Lindia: We don't normally make money on the workshop (last year we made $200) but we should not be in the negative. The invoice/inventory totals need to be reconciled with the safe money before we can get an accurate account of shop totals. Pauline and Tracie to check with Jill in the morning to balance the account. Lindia: Lets reconcile the monies from this year and look at how we did before we discuss whether or not we'll do it again next year. PTC to review the account and talk about next years shop at the February meeting.

Pollock Frollock: 10am - 2pm
Monica would like to find more ways to include other people and the school in this event. Her idea is that each grade will take care of one carnival game and she hopes the teachers will really take hold of it as something fun, it's a great way each class can show their school spirit! We may need to have a contingency plan to put each carnival game into the classroom who is responsible for it in case of bad weather. Mr.Malicote suggests half the games and all the food in the cafeteria and the rest of them in a building close bye in the event of bad weather, he is also fine with plan B being that we use the classrooms.
Nicole has concerns about the public coming into the classrooms and time restraints on teachers having to rearrange furniture. Mr.Malicote thinks we could ask Phil to help out if need be so that it wouldn't fall entirely on the teachers shoulders.
Lindia: This event makes a lot of money for our school, I would hate to see it not happen this year. May 19th is the best window to schedule the Pollock Frollock. Monica would like everyone to challenge themselves to find two people to be willing to volunteer for the event and call or e mail her with names and phone numbers, By Next Friday! Food will be Tacos again & Two bounce houses again because it worked out so well with the different age groups last year.

Spring Dance: 6-8pm
Schedule for March 23rd pending check of the community calendar. Barn Dance Theme again, spear headed by Lindia & Tracie. Lets talk to Ceresa about a raffle basket and plan on donating for a bake sale also. If the barn dance will be an annual event we should invest in a banner to hang.

We earned $4600 for PTC
through the escript program and safeway receipts, plus and extra $1000 for being in the top 100 of 35,000 earners! Mr.Malicote will call the mountain democrat to see if they would be willing to do a story because those are amazing totals! We would like to see the extra thousand dollars put towards something big, like upgrading playground equipment, or going in with the little league to create a new baseball field. It would be nice to present Safeway with a thank you award at one of the dances for all of their giving year round to community events.

Kristi will create a form letter re: What playground equipment / school improvement would you like to see most? and distribute in each teacher's box.

School Ends May 30th This Year!
